Places to stay

Coed Helen Caravan Park: This park is perfectly situated within a 5 minute walking distance from Caernarfon. The park rents out glamping lodges with incredible views of Snowdonia and even has an on-site bar and pool to really get you in the holiday spirit!

Victoria House B&B: Victoria House is a B&B in the heart of Caernarfon which means you can wake up and head straight into town, following on from your hearty breakfast. Victoria House offers more of a traditional stay, with plenty of character and old style furnishings.

Celtic Royal Hotel: Just a few steps away from Caernarfon Castle and smack bang in the centre of town, the Celtic Royal Hotel was built back in 1794 by the 2nd Earl of Uxbridge. Today, this historic hotel offers spacious, comfortable rooms, accompanied by an on-site spa, gym and swimming pool.

Ty’n Rhos Country House: This hotel offers a luxurious stay with breakfast included! Enjoy views of the mountains from your bedroom and even take a swing on the local golfing range. This hotel is a little further out and perfect for guests who want to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Places to drink

Four Ales: This cosy pub offers its patrons a fantastic selection of gins, wines and draught beers. After a morning of browsing around the historic town, why not nip in for a refreshment?

Molly’s: For those staying on Coed Helen Caravan Park, Molly’s is the on-site bar which is situated right next to a heated, outdoor pool. Imagine waking up in your glamping lodge, heading for a quick dip, then drinking a cold glass of Prosecco or a pint of beer after your swim. What could be better?

The Hole in the Wall Inn: For a friendly pub with outdoor seating and reasonably priced booze, The Hole in the Wall is your ideal choice. This ‘no frills’ pub is perfect for a quick stop off and a pint.

Places to eat

Tŷ Castell: This Tapas restaurant uses fresh produce from Gwynedd and their little dishes include Spanish style favourites with a Welsh twist. Guests can even stay in this 2nd grade listed building, with four bedrooms to choose from. Tŷ Castell is also available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you’re sure to find time to fit this restaurant in.

Bonta Deli: If you’re looking for a light bite, Bonta Deli is your spot! This shop offers a fantastic selection of wines, meats, cheeses and more, which you can either sample or take home for later. Try their cheese and charcuterie platter, followed by one of their delicious pastries.

Osteria: For Tuscan style dining and tasty bruschetta appetisers, Osteria is another delicious restaurant which, despite its limited menu, has a lot of options to try. Its prices aren’t bad either!

Things to do

Caernarfon Castle: You’ll know immediately when you’ve arrived in Caernarfon, as you’re greeted by the sight of its castle. Visitors can take tours around the castle, which is currently in the process of being renovated with a new viewing deck. Then once you’ve had your history briefing, why not head into town to enjoy some shopping in the local boutiques and a spot of tapas at Tŷ Castell.

Enjoy a boat tour: With sea stretching for miles, you might as well head out and see the beautiful Snowdonia mountains from a different perspective. Board the Queen of the Sea boat tour and sail for up to 2 hours.

Head to the beach! There are plenty of local beaches where you can take a long walk, enjoy an ice cream or even go for a dip on warmer days. Dinas Dinlle beach is a gorgeous sandy stretch with a section for dog walkers. Trearddur Bay beach is ideal for families, with lots of rock pools for crabbing and a handy little lunch spot called the Sea Shanty. Or, for the more adventurous type, you can experience wind surfing at the nearby Rhosneigr beach.

Zip World: Zip World is located in GreenWood Forest Park (close to Ty’n Rhos Country House) and offers the fastest zip line in the world! Take in breathtaking views of Snowdonia during this exhilarating day out with your friends and family.

If you’re in the Caernarfon area for a few more days, why not try and visit some other pretty towns such as Menai, Beaumaris or Beddgelert.
